UN BALANCE HISTORIOGRÁFICO (Y DOCUMENTAL) SOBRE EL ROL DEL CURA RURAL SECULAR EN PARAGUAY

Resumen
En un reciente artículo, Liliana Brezzo y María Laura Salinas llaman la atención sobre la trayectoria asincrónica de la historiografía eclesial paraguaya, en relación con los países vecinos. Reafirmando esta proposición, nuestra intención es tomar como centro de este trabajo lo escrito sobre el rol del cura rural en la diócesis del Paraguay en relación con la construcción de identidad y con el mismo Estado, colonial y republicano. Al mismo tiempo, precisamente por lo escasamente trabajado que está el tema, queremos mostrar también las fuentes y los posibles derroteros que puedan llegar a recorrerse. Si bien el período propuesto es amplio, desde principios del siglo XVIII hasta la década de 1960, nos concentraremos fundamentalmente en los siglos XVIII y XIX.

a recent article, Liliana Brezzo and Maria Laura Salinas call attention to the asynchronous path of Paraguayan Church historiography, in relation to neighboring countries. Reaffirming this proposition, we intend to focus on the role of country priest in the diocese of Paraguay as it relates to the construction of identity and the State, both colonial and republican. At the same time, precisely because this issue is so scarcely developed, it intends also to list sources and possible paths that can be researched. While the proposed period is wide, from the early eighteenth century to the 60s of the twentieth century, we will focus primarily on the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.
